A basic program developed for Security Professionals that are interested in obtaining knowledge and training that will lead them into a Correctional Services Career.
Course Description:
This course is a 16 hour add on to a 24 hour Arizona Department of Public Safety Guard Training Curriculum leading to 40 hours of in-service training.

Criminal Law Correctional Law Case Law Review Prison Rape Elimination Act
Ethics Communications Criminal Justice Process Corrections Uniform and Equipment
Crisis Response Firearms Training Correctional Procedures Use of Force
Course Requirements:
Applicants are deemed to not meet qualifications
A.R.S. 41 § 41-1682
Private prisons; prohibitions; liability for services; financial responsibility
Section, G. A security officer employed by a private prison contractor shall be at least twenty-one years of age and have no felony convictions.
A.R.S. 32-2622 - For Armed Security Guard:
• If you have ever been convicted of any misdemeanor or felony involving domestic violence.
• If you are a Prohibited Possessor as defined in ARS §13-3101 or as described in 18 United States Code section 922.
• If you were discharged from the armed services of the United States under other than honorable conditions.
Hardware Requirement:
Access to a cellular phone with the most recent versions of IOS or Android and ability to access the Google Play Store or access to a computer that can log into Google Applications. A minimum of 100 Mbps, internet connectivity for real-time interaction between the instructor and student.
